“ Wonderful Machi-ya!!! ”
Staying at this house was by far the most memorable part of my recent trip. Even though it is located only a block away from the tourist mobbed route to the Kiyomizu-temple, the house was so quiet and peaceful - totally another world, where you were taken back to the yesteryears of Old Japan. The house is furnished with beautiful pieces of antique furniture, but equipped with all the modern conveniences to make the stay most comfortable. To experience the old Japan, this was the perfect house.

“ Live like a local. ”
Acco's impeccable taste is a delightful welcome through the Kiyomizu house, from traditional balcony Japanese garden to the fresh simple ikebana flowers. Our family enjoyed a week here to relax recuperate and absorb Japan. The facilities are fantastic, location THE BEST! Less than 2km scenic walk to downtown Gion, take the early morning solitary stroll through Kiyomizu temple, the monks pray and chant at 7am at the waterfall. It feels like your own. Excellent accommodation in Japan. Authentic experience. Highly recommend. We will be back to stay.

We absolutely loved staying here. No more five-star hotels for us. This was home. The location is magnificent. A morning ritual of a walk to the Kiyomizudera Temple is highly recommended.

“ Lovely Kyoto house ”
The location is tranquil after long days out, but convenient for public transit and for exploring on foot. The interior is bright and airy, attractively furnished and decorated, and well equipped with the sorts of necessities one doesn't carry in a suitcase. There are many thoughtful details: attractive pottery for everyday use, beautiful architectural woodwork, traditional-style light fixtures, comfortable bed linens, huge bath towels, an excellent shower. We'd be happy to stay here again. Highly recommended.

“ A world away! ”
This house was a perfect place to stay in Kyoto for our holiday. We wanted to stay in somewhere a little more authentic to a hotel to best experience our stay in Japan. It had all of the appliances that made our stay comfortable, with all of the trimmings and charm of a genuine Japanese house. The location is a perfect base for exploring the sights of Kyoto and we loved being able to explore the surroundings of where we were staying. My favorite part of the trip was dressing up as a maiko in Gion which was a short walk away from the house.

“ A Delightful Experience ”
Our family of four ( two 50-ish adults and two teenagers ) loved the home’s authenticity and traditional design, modern kitchen, the fantastic tub, comfortable tatami mats and futons, cool nightly breezes and the cozy and incredibly quiet feel of the neighborhood. We explored Kyoto for five days by foot, bus and bike, and the house was in a great location for most everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“ Sweet traditional home in a great location.”
We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful Kyoto home, just a short walk up the street and you have a lovely and quaint view of a beautiful pagoda and the true elements of Kyoto. The house is very well kept and has everything you need and the owner is a delight to work with. I would definitely stay here again as I loved my walks in the area and you are so close to everything. “ Best location and lovely home! ”
We stayed at this lovely home in the Kiyomizu neighborhood with our family of five and were very comfortable. The sights of old Kyoto are literally at your doorstep. All conveniences, shopping and excellent restaurants are nearby. We will return!
